Thank you's and birthdays!

The past week was a busy week, as most seem to be.   I had posted earlier about our first Club night.   One of my Club ladies was kind enough to bring some extra tools for me to use in class.   The next day I tried a new cookie recipe which uses Nutella.    Absolutely LOVE Nutella in our house so how could you go wrong with a Nutella cookie!    They were delish and probably a new favourite in our house.    I made sure to give Patrice one as a thank you for her help.    Of course you can't just give a cookie without wrapping it up pretty:
I used the oval accents bigz die to cut a folded piece of cajun craze card stock.  A strip of comfort cafe cut with the same die fits across the front and is decorated with some soft suede leaves and a brushed bronze designer button with vintage lace.    The sides of the oval accent cut pieces are closed using sticky strip, leaving the top open to form a pocket.   Taaadaaaa ... a cute little cookie holder!

SUPPLIES:

Paper:   cajun craze, comfort cafe DSP, very vanilla, soft suede
Ink:   soft suede
Stamps:   Full of Blessings
Accessories:   big shot, oval accents bigz die, autumn accents bigz die, brushed bronze designer button, vintage lace

It was also a week of birthdays.    My sis-in-law had a birthday on Friday.   Here is the card I made for her:
I love combining soft suede with summer starfruit.    This is a partial CASE from someone ... can't find where I had seen the sample that inspired me.    Thank you so much whoever you are.   Leave a comment if it was from you.

SUPPLIES:

Paper:   soft suede, summer starfruit, very vanilla
Ink:   summer starfruit, soft suede
Stamps:   Blooming with Kindness, Bring on the Cake
Accessories:   big shot, apothecary accents framelits, finishing touches edgelits, paper piercer, essentials paper-piercing pack, large oval punch, basic pearls, dazzling details

And ... I had a birthday too!    Here is a pic of a beautiful gift I received from my friend, Tina:
Isn't this cute??    She makes the most beautiful cake pops and the presentation makes it hard to eat them because you don't want to ruin the beauty of it.    Thank you so much Tina for the beautiful birthday gift.   Tina has a birthday coming up soon but I won't ruin it by giving her my baking!    I will have to surprise her with something crafty.   lol

Thanks for stopping by.    Have a great day.

Sept Stamp Club projects - having fun with the glue gun!

Okay - maybe it wasn't so much fun playing with the hot glue gun.   It certainly can be painful at times.   Not sure how much the ladies enjoyed this project but it sure is cute:
This wreath was CASEd from Jennifer Picard, a wonderfully talented demo.   Check out her website at http://www.anewinkonlife.com/a-new-ink-on-life/2012/08/fun-with-fabric-gratitude-wreath.html.   This is a great project for showcasing our SU fabric, buttons and ribbon.    A mini wreath is used here.   I need to get some more 'cause these are my new favourite project to work on!

SUPPLIES:

Paper - none
Ink - none
Stamps - none
Accessories -  Comfort Cafe designer fabric, brushed bronze designer button, linen thread, baja breeze seam binding ribbon, cotton ribbon

This Give Thanks card was quick and easy to make.    Love the colours!   The colour combo was drawn from the Comfort Cafe DSP, which I absolutely love.

Ink:   soft suede
Stamps:  Full of Blessings
Accessories:   big shot, lacy brocade embossing folder, apothecary accents framelits, vintage buttons, square punch, scallop edge border punch, midnight muse stitched ribbon

What a cheerful and bright birthday card.   The Perfectly Preserved stamp set has been so much fun to use.

Fall projects

I'm sure I have told you how much I love all of the wonderful product in the Holiday catalogue and maybe I've mentioned how much I enjoy Fall.    Fall just happens to be my favourite season!  The vivid colours, crisp air and the excitement of the upcoming holiday seasons just seem to invigorate me.    There are plenty of products available in the Holiday catalogue to help me celebrate! Here are a couple of fall projects:

I love decorating simple brown/white gift bags.    This gift bag held some items I donated to a fund raiser for a friend of mine who is recovering from a bad accident.    The Autumn Accents bigz die is perfect for making beautiful fall leaves.    Crumpling and sponging gives the leaves definition and a realistic look.

SUPPLIES:

Paper:   more mustard, soft suede, old olive, very vanilla
Ink:  early espresso
Stamps:   Always Thankful (retired)
Accessories:   Big Shot, autumn accents bigz die, xlarge designer button (retired), circle punches, more mustard scallop dotted ribbon, vintage lace ribbon, window frames framelits

I created some fall themed thank you cards using my all time favourite stamp set, Lovely as a Tree.   Perfect for a masculine birthday card as well.

SUPPLIES:

Paper:  early espresso, cajun craze, natural composition speciality paper, very vanilla, watercolour paper
Ink:  jet black stazon, early espresso, cajun craze, old olive, starfruit
Stamps:   Love as a Tree, Blooming with Kindness
Accessories:   scallop edge border punch, big shot, 3" circle die, 2 1/2 circle punch, paper piercer, essentials paper-piercing pack, early espresso ribbon (retired)

I hope you are having some stampin' fun, creating fall projects and decorating for the season.   Thanks for stopping by.

Stylin' Stampin' Squad September Blog Hop

Yes - it's here! Time for another blog hop. This month's theme is fall/back to school. I'm twice as excited because fall is my favourite time of year and I was REALLY ready for school to start again. You may have arrived here from Dawn's blog. Please make sure to leave comments for all of our participants so we can feel the love. Here are my projects:

It has been so much fun to make up these canning jars for little gifts. This jar and matching card were my son's teacher gift for the first day of school. The jar contains some lifesavers candy. I didn't think of how appropriate that was until after I had given her the gift! The Perfectly Preserved Bundle has been one of my favourite purchases from the holiday catalogue.

SUPPLIES (jar):

Paper: early espresso core-dination, lucky limeade, whisper white
Ink: early espresso
Stamps: Friendship Preserves
Accessories: big shot, window frames framelits, woodgrain embossing folder, scallop circle die, orchard harvest designer fabric, chocolate chip taffeta ribbon (retired), paper piercer, festive paper-piercing pack

SUPPLIES (card):

Paper: early espresso, lucky limeade, whisper white
Ink: early espresso, lucky limeade, raspberry ripple, chocolate chip
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved
Accessories: big shot, window frames framelits, woodgrain embossing folder, bitty banners framelits, cannery set framelits, brushed bronze designer button, linen thread, 7/8" cotton ribbon, chocolate chip taffeta ribbon (retired), paper piercer, festive paper-piercing pack

This was a joint project between my son and I. He loves to craft along with me and I enjoy the quality time together. He coloured the back to school letters and punched the stars. Perfect little helper. I had so much fun making the pencil. Love it! This double page layout is a nice addition for the scrapbook.

Ink: basic black, raspberry ripple, lucky limeade, whisper white craft

Things I've been up to!

So I have been busy trying to replenish my card supply to sell at our Farmers Market.    WARNING:   there has been some use of retired products in one or more of these projects!!    I tend to hang on to some of my favourite product to use for my card sales, etc.    I try not to use retired product in my classes though as that just leads to someone wanting to order something that is no longer available.   Here are a couple of the cards I have done:

This was an almost complete CASE from the big catalogue.     Almost too bright for a sympathy card??

SUPPLIES:

Paper:  crumb cake, daffodil delight, very vanilla
Ink:   old olive, daffodil delight, tangerine tango, early espresso
Stamps:   Reason to Smile (retired), Thoughts and Prayers
Accessories:   big shot, large scallop edgelit, apothecary accents framelits, paper piercer, essentials paper-piercing pack, baja breeze seam binding ribbon, oval punch

Some bright and cheery birthday cards (also using retired product!).

SUPPLIES:

Paper:  chocolate chip, melon mambo, tempting turquoise, whisper white
Ink:   crumb cake, real red, pretty in pink, tempting turquoise, chocolate chip, basic black
Stamps:   Birthday Bakery (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Accessories:  big shot, addorning accents edgelits and embossing folders, apothecary accents framelits, paper piercer, essentials paper-piercing pack, dazzling details, white bakers twine, designer buttons (retired), square punch

I will post some more card samples later in the week.    Coming soon - September Blog Hop!!  Make sure to check back in on Thursday to see what the hoppers have created for your viewing pleasure.   Thanks for stopping by.
